"Miata earned her wings today, an angel has been born,

Although we dearly miss her, she tells us not to mourn,

Cause she's risen up to heaven, her spirit now soars free,

We feel her watching over us, and it should be clear to see,

That heaven called our angel, for a very important task,

She guides the whole wide world now, what more can anyone ask..."

Rest peacefully my baby girl....

Miata as a puppy

Miata played an instrumental roll in our breeding program.  She was shown a few times as a puppy and did very well.  However, she ended up being a little larger than she needed to be and we decided that it was best to retire her from the show ring.  Unfortunately, we never got more than one litter from her due to many reasons (timing was wrong, sterile stud dogs etc.)  However, she did bless us with one outstanding litter!  In 1995 Miata whelped a huge litter of 14!!!  In 1999, two of her kids finished their Championship title. One other was pointed, and the four that we kept for show and breeding all OFA'd "good" (one was only prelimmed) hips and elbows. You can see her kids, Ch. Quila and Ch. Kid on their pages.

We lost our sweet girl to cancer of the spleen and kidney.  We are comforted by the fact that she was very happy and healthy right up until the end.  She is greatly missed around here by myself and her best buddy (and son) "Kid".  Miata lives on through her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  We feel blessed for having had her in our lives.
